Changes Afoot for TGD Pro

A couple of months ago, I had heard from several very reliable sources that [Duxbury Systems, Inc.](http://www.duxburysystems.com/ “Visit the home page of Duxbury Systems, makers of the Duxbury braille translation software”) would be taking over the development and support of TGD Pro. I just went to the home page for [Tactile Graphic Designer](http://www.tactileaudio.com/ “Visit tactileaudio.com for more information about TGD Pro”) and it seems to be official:

It will no longer be posible (sic) to use the TGD email address after June 2005.

Seeing as how I needed a new registration number to install TGD Pro on my new system anyway, I dropped a note to David Skrivanek, president of [Repro-Tronics](http://www.repro-tronics.com) and North American distributor of TGD Pro, to get the latest scoop. The impression I get from Dave is that Repro-Tronics and Duxbury will be working together on the development and support of TGD Pro. I think that’s great because Dave is my go-to guy when I have questions about TGD Pro, and everything I create using TGD Pro winds up in a Duxbury document….

But there was even better news: QikTac, a component of TGD Pro that can be purchased as a stand alone product, is going to become a free product that does not have to be registered. I’m not sure when, but stay tuned. Right now, of course, registered users of Duxbury can register QikTac at no additional charge. But if you don’t own Duxbury, or if you want to install QikTac on multiple machines without having to go through the registration process each time, free is good. It’s also going to be renamed QuickTac.
